The Arizona Clean Elections Commission invited candidates for Legislative District 19 for a live, recorded debate. District 19 encompasses five Arizona counties, including much of Santa Cruz County. Democratic candidates for the House of Representatives Aiden Swallow and Jackie O’Donnell Anderson participated in the debate, but Republican candidates Lupe Diaz and David Gowan declined their invitations. Likewise, for the district’s Senate seat, Democratic candidate Bob Karp chose to participate, but Republic Gail Griffin did not.
