Five Sonoita-Elgin Fire District members who saved a community member’s life in December have been awarded Commendations for Distinguished Action.

Union members expect that forming a new chapter of the International Association of Firefighters will increase unity and cohesion, as well as bring access to numerous benefits that could not be obtained locally.

We owe a big debt to those individuals who began fire services in this area, literally beginning with nothing. 

Traffic collisions on our local highways are taking a toll on everyone, from those injured to those who respond.

A recent increase in the number of concurrent service calls means the time is approaching when some difficult decisions about staffing may need to be made.
