UPDATE 5:18 p.m. update: Patagonia Volunteer Fire & Rescue is reporting that the highway is now open at Mile Post 15 after being closed for much of the afternoon.
5:03 p.m.: We have reports that the highway was still closed as of 4:37pm.
We have an unconfirmed report that the closure is due to a wreck involving a gravel truck.
Statement from Patagonia Volunteer Fire & Rescue at 3:18 p.m.:
Hwy 82 is currently shut down at MP 15, with traffic backed up to MP 12.
The roadway is expected to reopen around 3:45, but delays are possible. Please plan accordingly and avoid the area if you can.
