Coach Nate Porter sees a lot to like as he assesses the makeup of the 2025-26 Patagonia High boys basketball team.

Patagonia Elementary’s new first grade teacher is happy to be working close to her Elgin residence and with a small class size. “I feel like I am home,” she said.

“I have checked out Patagonia for years,” said Patagonia’s new high school science teacher. “I thought this would be a great place to teach, and it is.”

The first-year teacher’s fifth-grade classroom is alive with color and student projects. “I completely fell in love with the kids and curriculum,” Carrasco says. “They are just getting smarter and the teaching is so rewarding.”

“Watching them grow over the years has been incredible,” said Lobos coach Brenda Somoza. “Their athletic ability, their leadership and their demeanor on the court, it’s unmatched. I haven’t seen that in a long time.”

“We had a great season, and I’m so proud of these kids,” Coach Brenda Somoza said after Tuesday night’s season-ending loss at home.

Tickets can be purchased before the game and day of the game with debit/credit card only. Here’s all the details.
