The Lobos have eight games remaining in the regular season, beginning Friday at Baboquivari. “We don’t have any wiggle room,” Coach Nate Porter said. “We need to win some ball games.”

Noah Gallardo led the way with 14 points as Patagonia cruised to a 53-26 win Thursday night.

This fall, Patagonia sixth-graders had something new to look forward to in PE class: riding brand new mountain bikes. 

The Patagonia High boys and girls basketball teams will welcome a fresh start in 2026, as the 2025 portion of their seasons did not go as hoped or expected.

Senior Emma Lewton stole the spotlight in the girls game, notching 12 steals and 24 points to lead Patagonia to a 38-33 victory over Hayden.

Report cards are in. And both Patagonia public schools and Sonoita Elementary School have garnered improved grades as awarded by the Arizona Department of Education.

Patagonia Athletic director Nate Porter said the team’s success was a point of pride for the entire school.

The Elgin resident is enjoying the transition from being a specialist to teaching in a classroom with 13 students. “I feel blessed and so thankful to be working here,” she said.
