“Watching them grow over the years has been incredible,” said Lobos coach Brenda Somoza. “Their athletic ability, their leadership and their demeanor on the court, it’s unmatched. I haven’t seen that in a long time.”

Patagonia concluded its regular season on Friday night with a resounding 25-14, 25-13, 25-10 victory over San Simon. 

The Lobos didn’t stop fighting, but they were unable to muster consistent effort against an elite opponent on the road. Next up: Lourdes Catholic.

A share of first place will be on the line when the Lobos visit St. David today. The two teams last met three weeks ago, with the Lobos suffering a heartbreaking loss at home.

The art teacher has been at Elgin School since 2004. “I absolutely love it,” she said. “We have a culture of rowing a boat together.”
