News release

Mountain Empire Rotary Club (MER) will host its first ever dinner and movie screening on Saturday, May 17 at the Sonoita Fairgrounds Pioneer Hall. Acclaimed Producer Bob Misiorowski will present his blockbuster hit “Tombstone” with commentary about the filming and storyline.

“The story of Wyatt Earp and the shootout at OK Corral is synonymous with southern Arizona. This event will be a unique opportunity to take a deeper dive into one iconic retelling of that story,” said Mountain Empire Rotary President Anneliese Dompe. “Learn why this has become such a quotable movie.”

Guests also are encouraged to dress to impress Doc Holliday. In other words, get into the spirit of 1881 Tombstone when choosing what to wear. There will be a $100 cash prize for the best dressed. No weapons allowed.

Each ticket is $65 and includes buffet dinner plus two drink tickets per person. Additional drinks will be available for sale. Tickets are available online and can be purchased at Twisted Union Wine Co. Seating is limited. This is a 21 and older event.
