Three journalists from Mexico, Armenia and India have produced a nine-minute documentary video exploring the local resistance to Arizona’s shipping container wall along the border with Mexico in late 2022.
A Wall Runs Through It features new interviews with Kate Scott of the Madrean Archipelago Wildlife Center, Russ McSpadden of the Center for Biological Diversity, Santa Cruz County Sheriff David Hathaway, lawyer Dinah Bear and other ‘Border Wall Resistance’ (BWR) activists who participated in the weeks-long effort to halt construction of the wall.
Created by Trilce Estrada Olvera, Makepeace Sitlhou and Hakob Karapetyan with support from Arizona State University, A Wall Runs Through It recently won a Student Production Emmy.
For further information on the BWR and the making of the film, see “The Fall of an Arizona Border Wall,” written by the filmmakers for Yes! magazine.
