Thanking the Aults

I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on the sale of the Patagonia Lumber Company that was announced just recently.

I didn’t frequent the bar too often, but whenever I did, I enjoyed my experience (and the beer!). And to say that the PLC has changed the entertainment atmosphere in Patagonia would be an understatement.

But as a Board member of KPUP, the Patagonia Community radio station (100.5 FM), what really touched me was the way Zander and Heidi bent over backwards for us this past May for our annual KPUP Luau fundraiser in providing a great venue that drew a huge crowd for us. Plus, they donated their entire cover charge for our fundraising, which was over $600. They didn’t have to do that. And I read that they did the same thing for the PVFR annual Steak Fry fundraiser.

They understood the value of community support. I wish them the best of luck in all of their future endeavors. I welcome the new owners, Wendy and Keith Spooner! You have some big shoes to fill!
