Yes, we have a good selection of books and DVDs. But one of the library team’s favorite offerings is our jigsaw puzzle collection.
Jigsaw puzzles date to 1760, when a British cartographer mounted maps on wooden boards as a teaching tool, selling them to schools and wealthy families.
Today, 266 years later, jigsaw puzzles are a popular source of fun and camaraderie within our community. We regularly receive puzzles as donations, so there is always a new puzzle in progress at the table in the main collection area. As a bonus, if you are an independent puzzler, your library card lets you borrow a puzzle or two to work on at home at your own pace.
If unseasonably warm weather is interfering with your outdoor plans, keep the library in mind. It’s cool and stress-free, and you might run into an old friend or, better yet, make a new one.
