The mission of the Patagonia Museum is to preserve the history of eastern Santa Cruz County and that includes the history of the elementary school itself, which is where the museum is housed. Built in 1915, the elementary school was the longest in-continuous-use school in Arizona at the time it closed in 2014.

The Patagonia Lobo Memory Tree is our attempt to continue collecting the history of the school. If you are a student, teacher or staff member, we invite you to become a part of history by stopping by to autograph this trunk of a pine tree that once graced the school’s grounds.

The idea of “logging in” officially began at the first annual Lobo Pup reunion organized by Jac Heiss and Molly Wright and held on the school grounds on May 2. If you couldn’t join in the fun that night, we would love to have you stop by to autograph the tree, which is now on permanent display in the classroom area of the museum.
