The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors held a special meeting on Aug. 21 to accept a bid from Marsh Development for the construction of the Sonoita Public Library Renovation project set to begin in early September. The BOS awarded $435,501 for the renovations.
In preparation for the construction, the library held its last public event on Friday, Aug. 25 and will be closed from Sept. 1 until the construction is complete.

Sonoita Public Library Renovation Contract Awarded to Marsh Development Incorporated
Santa Cruz County, Arizona – Three bids were received in July for the Sonoita Public Library Renovation project. During the Special Board of Supervisors meeting held on August 21, 2023, the contract was awarded to Marsh Development Incorporated in the amount of $435,501.00.
The renovation project will encompass a comprehensive renovation of the library’s facilities, designed to create a more welcoming and functional space for library users and the community. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-September 2023 and the estimated completion is expected in the middle of the first quarter of 2024. To ensure the safety of both the public and construction crews, the building will be closed to the public for the duration of the project.
