19.01% of registered democrats and 25.84% of registered republicans cast their vote in Santa Cruz County in the presidential preference election held March 19. There are 14,946 registered democrats in the county and 5742 registered republicans. 

In the democratic race Joe Biden won 2353 votes, with 93 voters showing up at the polls and 2260 residents voting early, far outpacing Marianne Wilson who received 149 votes, Dean Phillips, who received 109 votes and four other candidates who each got less than 100 votes.

Donald Trump took 1208 votes, Nikki Haley got 224 votes, Chris Christie received 14 votes. The eight other candidates on the ballot received less than 13 votes each, with one candidate, Asa Hutchinson, receiving no votes.
