We are happy to let you know about another free online resource we offer to our members at the Patagonia Public Library. Libby is an online reading app that allows you to enjoy e-books, digital audiobooks and magazines in the comfort of your home. All you need is a library card and a compatible reading device (Apple running IOS 10+, Android 7.1+ or the newer Fire tablets).

Getting started is simple. Once you have a library card, go to the front page of our website, patagoniapubliclibrary.org, click on the Libby tab and then the Libby smiling icon to download the Libby app. The next task is to find your library (that’s us) and enter your card number and the phone number that we have on file for you and voila, you are in!

You will see that logging in to the system grants you full access to the inventory of eight other libraries in the “Little Libraries That Could” consortium, and partial access to another 36 partner libraries. That means you can browse and choose between thousands of titles and download them to read if they’re available. Or if a specific title is not available, you can place it on hold and Libby will let you know when it is ready for you to enjoy.

A few upfront troubleshooting tips. You must have the app to enjoy this service. If you are unable to log in to it, make sure you are using the correct card number and the phone number you gave us when you opened your account. If all else fails, you are welcome to call us or drop by for help. Libby is free, easy to use and offers a world of new material at your fingertips.

Happy reading from your friends on the Patagonia Public Library team.
