There were 55 responder incidents in August, half were medical in nature.

The Board voted unanimously to:

  • Recognize the United Firefighters of Sonoita (UFS), International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 5597 as the official representative body for Firefighters/EMTs.
  • Fund $40,000 for purchase and installation of a Stryker power cot system to improve patient transport care.
  • Appoint Scott Harris to the SEFD Board through Nov. 30, 2028, to replace Robert Garber, who recently resigned.
  •  Approve the installment of a QuantAQ sensor on Fire Station Property to measure air quality in real time at no cost to the district.Â
