time of year when we ask our community to help us continue our mission to provide local news here
in eastern Santa Cruz County. Our reporting is community driven and community funded. In other words, we wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for you. The PRT is a nonprofit newsroom that depends on donations and grants to be able to continue bringing you news and information that would otherwise
go unreported. Please DONATE now to the PRT and help us make our fundraising goal of $28,000.

By Alison Bunting

J.W. Miller’s arrival in Patagonia around 1915 did not go unnoticed—he was reputed to be “the tallest, best natured man in Patagonia.” By 1920, he was manager of the Patagonia Lumber yard.
Submitting Community Events to the PRT
The PRT is committed to sharing details and information about upcoming community events with our readers at no cost in our weekly e-newsletter. Due to the large number of submissions, the PRT will no longer be able to post each and every poster in our newsletter. We will share a link to your event page or poster, or a brief description of each event. Each week we will post one or two event flyers. Please share your events via email at least one week prior to the event date. Poster submissions require a JPEG format along with a brief typed description about the event in your email to Nisa Talavera, Assistant Editor at prtasted@gmail.com.
