The Patagonia Lobos baseball team is a little more than a week into its preseason practice and less than a week away from its season opener.

The Lobos host San Miguel on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 3:45 p.m. Ryan Shore is in his first season as head coach after assisting Ricardo Padilla a year ago.

Shore has 12 players out for the team and is looking to improve upon last season’s 1-15 record.

The Lobos return most of their lineup from last season, including infielders Johnny Fields, Noah Gallardo, Kannon Shore and Josh Woods and outfielders Miguel Albarran, Lenin Albarran, Nick Young and Joel Albert. D.J. Castro returns to the team after missing last season with a knee injury.
