Summer is officially behind us, and for that we’re all grateful.
Changing of the season means the PRT is back on its monthly print production cycle. We have traditionally skipped two editions in the summer because – so I’m told – that summer is the slow season.
And maybe that’s true for businesses, as tourism drops off during the hot months and some of the locals check out for cooler climes, but it’s hardly a news desert here, no matter the season or the weather.
For that reason, here’s a reminder to subscribe to our weekly news bulletin — free for one and all — and visit our website regularly to stay on top of everything going on in our majestic little corner of the world. It’s how you would have found out about the Border Patrol’s plans for a new Sonoita station, perhaps next to Elgin Elementary School; ongoing discussions of alternatives for the one-lane Babocomari Bridge; the many conquests of Patagonia High School’s volleyball team; continued reporting on the Lochiel cottonwood tree sit; the grand exploits of the Santa Cruz Little League All-Stars; and much more.
Our monthly print edition is the foundation of what we do, but we don’t want you to have to wait to find out about the important stories that impact your life, so remember, our bulletin and website are here for you.
Two other items of note now that we’d like you to be aware of:
- PRT board and staff members will be hosting “Coffee with the PRT” on the second and fourth Friday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Quail Covey, starting on Oct. 9. The coffee is on us, so come on over to get to know us a little better and share your thoughts on how to make the PRT a more important part of your life. (Or just say hello!)
- For current and would-be financial supporters, and anyone else who’s interested, our 2025 Annual Report can now be found on our website. Just click on the link in the green banner that says “2025 Annual Report.”
