County Recorder Candidates for General Election in Nov. 2020
Suzanne “Suzie” Sainz, incumbent candidate will run against Independent candidate David Alvarez in November 2020.

Education/licenses/certifications/military:
Attended elementary school at Coronado Elementary (now A.J. Mitchell) and Lincoln Elementary School.
Attended Nogales High School-Class of 1974.
Received GED Diploma at Mesa Community College in 1975.
Studied general courses at Pima and Mesa Community College; studied Business Management at the University of Phoenix.
While employed at the County Assessor’s I was certified as a Real and Personal Property Appraiser by the International Association of Assessing Officers and ADOR in Basic Residential, Land, Mobile Homes & Personal Property Appraisal.
I am also a Certified Election Officer by the State of Arizona Secretary of State.
Recent employment:
Santa Cruz County Recorder for 26 years.
Community organizations/activities:
I am a Nogales Woman’s Club (NWC) Board Member and served as 1st Vice President, NWC Scholarship Fundraiser Committee, NWC Committees for Scholarship Recipients and Woman of Distinction.
Pimeria Alta Historical Society (PAHS) Board Member and past President, PAHS Fundraiser Committee, PAHS Time Capsule Committee, former Board Member of The Friends of the 1904 Courthouse.
Member of the Arizona Association of County Recorder’s and past President.
Board Member and County Coordinator of the Arizona Association of Counties representing Santa Cruz County.
Member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and volunteer at Sacred Heart of Jesus Bookstore.
I organized a special ceremony in honor of our Santa Cruz County Centenarians in celebration of the State of Arizona Centennial Celebration. I was co-coordinator for the 1899-1999 Santa Cruz County Centennial Celebration and participant of the Fiesta de los Ninos Celebration.
Past Board Member of the Santa Cruz Training Center and the United Way.
I was Soccer Team Mother, Booster Club Treasurer. Assistant Brownie Leader. I also support our community organizations by volunteering and attending their fundraisers.

Prior to being elected I was a Personal Appraiser and managed the department at the County Assessor’s Office for 14.5 years.
