A Success Story Celebrates One Year

In the space of a one-bedroom apartment, Steve and Anna Coleman have created a place for the children and young adults of Patagonia to talk, play music, watch television, do their homework, cook, and play foosball.

The Patagonia Museum will host a workday at the Lochiel Schoolhouse on Friday, February 10, from 10 am to 2 pm. Please bring water. lunch and gloves.
On Saturday, February 11, the Patagonia Museum will sponsor a docent training day. The training will consist of a short walking tour starting in front of town hall (railroad depot) at 9 am, a slide presentation in the Patagonia Library at 10:30 am and a tour of the museum at 1 pm. All interested individuals are welcome to participate in one or all of these events whether you are considering volunteering as a docent or not.

The Patagonia ‘Music People’ are looking for some participants who like to sing, can read music and would like to help us make some pretty noise for the locals! Also, if you would like to play your oboe, clarinet, violin, cello, harmonica, drums or other instrument, there may be a spot for you to accompany the voices. We are a friendly, fun group and there are small ensembles that could use your help. This isn’t the Mormon Tabernacle but we do our best! BRN SEEKS VOTES FROM THE PUBLIC IN SUMMIT HUT BANFF MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL GRANT COMPETITION
Borderlands Restoration Network (BRN) is seeking support from the public in a voting competition for grant funding through the Summit Hut Banff Mountain Film Festival being held at the Fox Tucson Theatre on March 3.
BRN was named one of three finalists in the competition that now compete to receive the most votes to be the overall winner to receive proceeds from the event.
Voting is one-time only, with a valid email address. The public can participate by visiting www.borderlandsrestoration.org/banff.html and clicking the vote now button. Additionally, the public can help spread the word about the competition by sharing on social media or emailing to friends and family.

Arizona Community Foundation Scholarship Application Now Open
Scholarships available for students in Patagonia and surrounding communities
PATAGONIA— The Arizona Community Foundation’s online scholarship portal is now accepting applications at azfoundation.org/scholarships. Scholarships are available to students in Patagonia and surrounding communities attending postsecondary schools during the 2023-24 academic year.
As Arizona’s largest independent provider of scholarship funding, ACF offers access to more than 150 scholarships through a single online application. Applicants complete one general application that instantly matches them with scholarship opportunities for which they may be eligible. During the 2022-23 academic year, ACF awarded over $5.4 million in scholarships to students across Arizona.
Scholarships are available for high school seniors, current college students, graduate students, or adult re-entry students attending accredited two-year and four-year colleges and universities, as well as career and technical schools anywhere in the United States. Each award has its own deadline, with some closing as early as March 1 or as late as May. Students are encouraged to apply early to maximize their opportunities.
Scholarships can be awarded based on merit or financial need and may be restricted to students in Patagonia and surrounding communities or with specific demographic characteristics. Los Charros Foundation Scholarship Application
Our scholarship program is available to all students that live in Cochise, Pima, and Santa Cruz Counties. We welcome scholarship applications from all students no matter their grade point average or the high school they attend. We focus on recipients that are in financial need, but we also support students from all demographics. We have received scholarship applications from youth with varying backgrounds and have been able to award scholarships to youth across the three counties. We also award scholarships to students already enrolled in college or trade/vocational programs.
