This month the PRT concludes our series of profiles of the PUHS senior class of 2025.ย Congratulations and best wishes to all the graduates!

Daniel Castro

Daniel Castro participated in basketball for all four years of high school, two years of baseball and three years in soccer. He was also the treasurer for one year and vice president for another year.
Other extracurricular activities he has done was to help with events for the school and the PYEC.
DJโs favorite teachers are Mrs. Hayes and Mr. Porter. His favorite subjects are history and welding because he enjoys doing those things in school. DJโs highlight of his high school year was making all the fun and endless memories. A memory he will forever remember while being in high school was his two trips to Williams, Arizona for a basketball tournament.ย
DJ sees himself ten years from now in a house living the best life he has always dreamed of. His plan for next year is going to Pima Community College to get his welding and fabrication associates degree in applied science.
A piece of advice he would give to underclassmen would be not to rush growing up, because you won’t get the same opportunities.

Meghan Aguilar

Meghan Aguilar has always been an important part of our school community, excelling inside as well as outside of school.
She has participated in various sports teams such as the basketball, volleyball and tennis teams. She has continuously proven her dedication to our schoolโs sports teams and had the privilege of having her Nana coach the team during her senior year.
Her favorite memory of her basketball experience was going to Williams, Arizona, and meeting her best friend, Betty.
When she is not busy dominating on the court, she has found success in English class. She often enjoys being in English class, where her creativity and writing skills shine.
Reflecting on her high school career, her favorite memory is meeting all the amazing people on our campus. Meghanโs positivity shines and her enthusiasm is infectious. Her eagerness during pep rallies gets her younger peers up on their feet and cheering right alongside her. Her kindness, determination, and talent have made long-lasting memories for everyone.
In the future, Meghan plans to go to college to become a nurse. She aspires to become a travel nurse, combining her passion for helping others with her adventurous skills.
In ten years she hopes to be working as a travel nurse and owning a house with her family. There is no doubt she will be successful in her next chapter of life, there is an entire world of possibilities on the other side of graduation for Meghan.
She would like the underclassmen to be true to themselves regardless of what other people say. She also wants them to express themselves freely while becoming a part of the schoolโs community.

Johnathan Fields

Johnathan Fields, a senior at Patagonia High School, participated in soccer for one year, basketball and baseball for four years, yearbook for one year, SkillsUSA for two years, and was a class representative for Student Government for his senior year.
His favorite memories from high school were all the funny moments on the sports trips and in class and playing his final years of baseball and basketball.
His favorite teacher is Mrs. Hayes because of how fun she made that class and how much help she gives everyone when they are struggling.
When Johnathan graduates from high school his plans are to leave for the Coast Guard in August with a plan of becoming an aviation mechanic or an MP.ย His goal is to stay in for four or eight years, depending on how much he enjoys it.ย
His goals are to have a good house with a big garage and many nice cars, traveling while he’s young and retiring at an early age with a nice family.

Joel Albert

Joel Albert is a senior at PUHS who is infamously known for his bright red car.
Joel came to Patagonia about halfway through his freshman year, and he almost immediately broke out of his shell. Joel worked hard to become the student he is today. Joel has participated in SkillsUSA, Student Government as a class representative, Multimedia Creations, basketball and baseball at Patagonia.
Outside of school, Joel has also been a very hard working student completing college math classes during the summer.
His favorite teachers are Mrs. Hayes, Mr. Porter, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Young and Mrs. Quinones. Joelโs favorite subjects are Math and English.
Joel says his high school highlight was his freshman year. His plans for the future are to join the United States Coast Guard. In ten years, Joel imagines himself still working in the Coast Guard.

Sebastian Padilla

From his familyโs ranch to Patagonia Union High Schoolโs campus, Sebastian Padilla is always applying his hard work ethic to everything he does.
Growing up on a ranch has had a powerful impact on Padilla. He has learned the value of hard work and qualities like respect. Also, because of his ranch, he was able to develop a strong love for riding horses and roping.
In the classroom setting, Sebastian has found success in all his classes. His favorites are weights, English and history.ย
Combining both his talents and passions will help with him obtaining the perfect career. He hopes to have a career, continue ranching and have his own loving family.ย
His coaches, Mr. Porter and Mr. Cuevas, influenced Padilla tremendously during his high school years. One of the most important lessons that they taught Padilla was to never give up and work hard.
Padilla distributed words of wisdom for underclassmen, which included, โDo your work and donโt be lazy.โ
Padilla has also participated in several extracurricular activities in his high school years, including baseball, basketball, rodeo and 4H club.ย He was part of the basketball and baseball teams and was quite devoted to both sports, where he showed great improvement over the years. Padilla has shown talent in rodeo and has won several awards.ย
When he is not participating in activities, Padilla enjoys spending quality time with his friends and family. As a member of the 4H club, Padilla has contributed to different projects in his community. It is definitely a truth that he cares about school, students, and the community.

Nicholas Young

Nicholas Young, a senior at Patagonia Union High School, has had a wide variety of participation in many different extracurricular activities throughout his years attending PUHS. These activities include Student Government as the Treasurer his senior year, a year of SkillsUSA, four years of baseball, and a basketball manager during his senior year.
Nicholas plans to attend the University of Arizona to study agricultural business management and receive his Bachelor’s Degree.
Nicholas liked all the teachers he had during his four years at Patagonia. Nicholas’s favorite memories from his four years attending the school are all the times he couldn’t stop laughing when it was time to be serious in class.
Nicholas’s high school highlight is his freshman year of Agricultural Science.
Ten years down the road, Nicholas imagines himself to be somewhere successful in a career he really enjoys.
He tells his underclassmen not to procrastinate and enjoy your high school years as it’s the highlight of your younger years and they go by fast.

Wyatt Rowell

Wyatt Floyd Rowell participated in soccer and tennis throughout his high school career.
His plans for next year include traveling and finding work.
The classes he enjoys most are English and art. He enjoys English because he likes the teacher, Mrs. Hayes, and the people in the class. He also enjoys art because he enjoys doing art and likes the teacher, Ms. Cassina. One of his favorite teachers is Mrs. Hayes. He likes Mrs. Hayes because she is nice and invaluable with the work we have. He also has another favorite teacher and he is Mr. Porter ยจBecause he is kind and thoughtful about what I say and cares about the work I am learning.” The highlight of Wyatt’s career is being a senior.
He imagines himself either being a streamer or becoming a welder.
A piece of advice Wyatt would like to give the underclassmen is ยจDon’t worry about anything just have fun and enjoy it while it lasts don’t focus on the bad things.” Wyatt also says that he “will never forget the people who helped him get through school.”
