We do not post any notices in the PRT Newsletter for events that are more than three weeks away. Flyers for nonprofits, community organizations and fundraisers will be accepted. Submissions and or questions should be in email form or a word document to Nisa Talavera, Assistant Editor at prtasted@gmail.com. All submissions for the Wednesday e-newsletter must be submitted by Tuesday, 10 a.m.

Elgin School Cross Country Team Off and Running

Patagonia Community Garden Pie Auction

Photo by Jill Johnson This “Full Moon” pie, baked by Jessica Cobb was one of the 39 pies donated to the Patagonia Community Garden Pie auction, held Sept. 10.

The Patagonia Community Garden Pie Auction fundraiser drew more than 100 people to the ramada in the garden on the corner ofย  4th and Duquesne Aves on Sept. 10. The event raised more than $7000 for the nonprofit garden, a record-breaking amount, according to Community Garden Co-President Martha Kelly. Auctioneer Pat Chacon soldย  39 pies that had been donated to the auction. The Happy Cookers catered the event, serving 103 dinners, and the Stringbenders provided live music. Astronomy Course Offered at the Library

News Release Ken Graun, author of several introductory books on astronomy, will offerย six monthly classes designed for upper high school students and adults. Meetings will take place in the Patagonia Library and adjacent garden. The first session will be held on Sept. 24. ย Click here for more information.

A Note From the Patagonia Museum

Thurs. Sept. 15 – 9a.m. – 2p.m. – Lochiel Schoolhouse workday. Please bring water, lunch and gloves.

Tues. Sept. 20 – German Quiroga will be speaking to the Rio Rico Historical Society on the History of Patagonia.

Fri. Sept. 23 – 7:30 am – Highway Cleanup. Please meet at the ramadas on Beaty Lane and Highway 82 before the scheduled time for a safety briefing.

COAT DRIVE at the Corner Scoop
Dena at Corner Scoop is collecting new coats of all sizes to distribute to local families in need. Please bring by new coats to the Corner Scoop now through Sept 30. Thank you for loving on this amazing community.

Recycle Cardboard in Patagonia

Clean, dry, flat, corrugated only Saturday, Sept. 24, 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. ย –ย ย Quiroga Lane, Patagonia Bring only clean, dry, flat, corrugated cardboardโ€“ no duct tape, staples, waxed boxes or fiberboard (such as cereal and cake mix boxes). Note: Recent advances in the recycling industry make it possible to accept cardboard with trace amounts of contaminants. Use good judgement: please donโ€™t bring us pizza boxes with leftover pizza or soiled with pizza sauce. We reserve the right to respectfully refuse to accept items that arenโ€™t recyclable. Sponsored by the Patagonia Recycling Task Force and the Town of Patagonia.

Patagonia HS Homecoming 2022


The Gear Up Program is hosting its 2nd annual Thrive Fest! It is a resource festival for students & families for career exploration, post-secondary options, early childhood resources, community engagement, health & fitness, and the arts.

Patagonia High School presents, Cafรฉ Murder! A murder mystery interactive dinner theatre! Tickets will go on sale Mon., October 3 in the school office. Production dates are Tue. and Wed. October 25 and at 5pm.

There will be a limited number of seats available for each show, so buy your tickets early! There will be NO sales at the door! Tickets are $10 individually or $50 for an entire table (seats 6 to a round table). Dinner will include 3 courses and a beverage. Contact Journee Hayes with any questions.

Sonoita has a very small “billiards club”.ย We generally try to get together to play pool every twoย weeks, but it’s pretty informal and sometimes we’ll skip aย weekย and pick up again on an offย week. Volunteer Opportunity

Crossroads Mission Nogales will serve their annual Thanksgiving Dinner to hundreds of families on SAT. NOVEMBER 19.ย If you’d like to help serve those in need a Thanksgiving meal plus provide food boxes, please go to the website for additional information.ย Volunteer Coordinator Victoria Vanderhoof will contact you. Church and service groups are welcome with open arms.ย Crossroads Mission Nogales is the only homeless / addiction recovery center in Santa Cruz County. There are two volunteer shifts:

*8am to 11amย  (cook, serve food, distribute food boxes) *11am to 2pmย  (serve food, distribute food boxes, clean up)
