PUHS Mechanic Restoration Program Pays Off

On Mar. 15, a silver 2008 Dodge Avenger, fully restored by students in the new auto/welding program Club Skills USA at PUHS, was sold at auction for $2400. Funds raised will go towards costs for student program members’ transportation, food and lodging expenses to travel and compete with other schools at the State level, in addition to funding the next car project. Jeff Gudenkauf, PUHS history teacher and program leader, shared “the [news] coverage of the program assisted us in getting over $6000 in donated tools and items for our welding and automotive classes. The winner of the auction wishes to remain anonymous, but I can tell you they were from Tucson. As for the number of people who attended, not as many as we would have liked, a few, but I believe it was because of the weather.” Contributed Photo
