Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Employee Cited for Theft
Press Release On June 01, 2023, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office became aware that $900 was missing from an inmate account and began an internal investigation. On June 9, 2023, during the investigation, Lilia Martinez, a 12-year employee of the Detention Division holding the position of Detention Receptionist, was questioned and confessed that she had taken the money. The $900.00 cash was recovered. Ms. Martinez was cited on misdemeanor theft charges and was released and ordered to appear in Nogales City Magistrate Court on July 05, 2023. Ms. Martinez resigned her employment with the Sheriff’s Office. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Nogales Police Department for their assistance in this investigation. No PVFR Steak Fry This Year

The members of Patagonia Fire & Rescue have decided to pass this year on what has annually been its biggest fundraising event. We didn’t start planning soon enough to run a successful event this June. Last year’s Steak Fry was well received and we hope our next effort will improve on that. Sonoita Produce on Wheels (POWWOW) this Saturday, JUNE 17th! This is the last Sonoita Produce on Wheels & Local Market, for the season. We’ll return in October.
We have many Community Volunteer Team members OUT on vacation for these last POWWOW of the season. If you’d like to lend a hand, this is what you would be doing… Sorting and Packing fresh produce, and assisting participants as they go through our farmer’s market style site. The shifts are 5:00 – 8:30 AM AND/OR 8:30 – 11:30 AM. *Those who volunteer for a shift will receive a complimentary unit of produce. If you’d like to give back to your community in this way, please call/text gardenia 602.292.1616 and let us know which shift you’re able to volunteer. Thank you all in advance!

Prioress Abbey is looking to hire baking staff. Position is Monday thru Friday assisting with the manufacturing of Communion Hosts. Two days per week baking and three days processing the hosts.
