A Brief Look at South32โs Hermosa Mine Plan of Operations

Community School Info
The Elgin Community Club offers two $1000 scholarships for 2024 graduating seniors living in the Sonoita, Elgin and Patagonia area. Students attending Patagonia HS can pick up an application from Mr. Michael Young. Students attending other high schools can contact Ginny Cosbey at 520-820-6155 or email at gcosbey@yahoo.com for an application form or any questions you might have about the scholarships. Applicants eligible for the grant need to plan to attend a university, community college or trade school. Applications are due April 12, 2024. The Los Charros Foundation 2024 Academic Scholarship application is live and we are excited for the opportunities we are able to provide graduating seniors in Southern Arizona. The Los Charros Foundation supports academic scholarships to four-year universities, two-year community college as well as any trade or vocational school. Art Contest in Need of Entries from SCC K – 6 Students The Arizona State Treasurerโs Office together with AZ529, Arizonaโs Education Savings Plan, are asking Arizona kindergarten through 6th-grade students to picture their future careers and the education they need to achieve their dreams. AZ529 Future Career Art Contest, asks students to draw, paint or find a creative way to make an art piece representing their dream job. A total of 15 winners will be selected across the state and receive $529 towards opening a new or existing AZ529 Education Savings Plan account. Winners will be selected from all Arizona counties and at least one winner representing a district school, charter school, private school, tribal school, and homeschool will be selected. The PRT is published on the first Friday of every month (except July and September) and is available at these distribution points while supplies last.
Submitting Community Events to the PRT
The PRT is committed to sharing details and information about upcoming community events with our readers at no cost in our weekly e-newsletter. Due to the large number of submissions, the PRT will no longer be able to post each and every poster in our newsletter. We will share a link to your event page or poster, or a brief description of each event. Each week we will post one or two event flyers. Please share your events via email at least one week prior to the event date. Poster submissions require a JPEG format along with a brief typed description about the event in your email to Nisa Talavera, Assistant Editor at prtasted@gmail.com. All submissions for the Wednesday e-newsletter must be submitted by Monday, 5pm.

The Santa Cruz Humane Society is looking to hire a cat kennel worker. Must like cats, must be able to lift around 30 lbs (bags of litter and cat food), and no allergies to cats. Job does require a lot bending and kneeling. Wednesday to Sunday with 34 hours weekly and possibility of making 40 hours weekly. Job includes – cleaning, showing cats to potential adopters, give medication to sick cats, and socialize with cats.
