Happy Valentines Day!
The votes have been counted and the winners are in! Thank you to everyone who sent in photos of your Furry Valentines. With over 50 photos to vote from, it wasn’t an easy task, but we have our winners. We’ll feature our honorable mention winners in upcoming newsletters. The winners in each category will be honored with a $25 donation made in their pet’s name to one of the following local animal rescue/charities of their choice: SCC Humane Society, Kitty Kasa in Sonoita or Whispers Sanctuary in Canelo. Check out our website later in the week for a photo carousel of all of the participants!
Photo Categories: Donโt Worry, Be Happy โ Happiest Pet

Pet name: Kane – Owner: Emily Moddelmog
“What I love about Kane: As the photo suggests, Kane is ALWAYS happy. He was a rescue and was in the shelter for almost 3 months before I adopted him. He loves people and is a wonderful ambassador for “bully” breeds because he is so friendly and easy going. He makes me smile even on my hardest day. He also insists on sleeping with me and usually sleeps ON me!”ย
Cutest Pet

Pet Name: Ripley – Owner: Laurie Cantillo “This is Ripley, age 12, a rescue terrier mix who has mastered this penetrating stare when begging for food. Ripley is my valentine because, like her namesake from the movie โAlien,โ she is fearless. This little scruff muffin is also so smart, she knows how to spell her favorite words like w-a-l-k and t-r-e-a-t so her Dad and I have to use other ways to communicate so we donโt send her into a Tigger-like frenzy.”
Golden Oldies (Senior Pets)

Pet Name: Rosy – Owner: Emily Moddelmog
“What I love most aboutย Rosy: I’m not sure how oldย Rosyย is because she was adopted. If the shelter was right, she is around 13 years old.ย Rosyย was shot before arriving at the shelter, so she has some trust issues. In spite of (or maybe because of) this,ย Rosyย is enjoying her life since I adopted her about 8 years ago. True to her breed (she is a Redbone Coonhound), she LOVES to smell on her walks and sunbathe on warm days. What I really love about her … she doesn’t bark, she bays!”
Best Friends Forever BFFs (more than one animal)

BFF names: Farley and Maggie – Owner: Molly McClure
“What I love best: They make me smile when I’m down”
Pets and Their People

Pet Name: Tsala – Owner: Michael Collins
This Golden Oldie loves to be cuddled, read to and bark at the crows! Photo submitted by Cindy Matus Morriss.
