Students Display Summer Art Creations

About 100 families and community members gathered at the Museum on June 29 to view and celebrate the art of the participants of PCAA’s Summer Art Camp.

The Holiday Bridge Crew Strikes Again

Photo by Pat McNamara Neighbors work to decorate the Elgin Bridge for the 4th of July. (From left) Karen Parkey, Sharon Raymond, Wendy Krizan, Dottie Farar, Tina Bockstahler, Karen Burdine. Not pictured: Ann Greenwood, Linda Anderson and Jo Dean.

By Pat McNamara The Elgin Bridge gets another ‘face lift’ from our local Holiday Bridge Crew. This tradition started with former resident, Mary Moran. Linda Anderson has now taken up the leadership of this motley crew and schedules the pre-holiday event and provides the decor as needed. It’s fun to add a little ‘sparkle’ to our historic landmark on these special occasions and spend the early morning with friends and neighbors.

“Hi, I’m Jonathan Hasenstab. I’m an undergraduate senior at the University of Arizona, and I’m doing a groundwater study in Elgin as part of my senior thesis. I’ve been getting in contact with well owners in Elgin in the hopes of collecting water samples this summer. I was wondering if folks living in or around the Elgin area might be interested in letting us sample from their private wells, or who may know neighbors living in the area who are interested in doing the same. We will collect water samples from an outside faucet closest to the well prior to any water treatment, and those who agree to let us sample from their wells will be informed of the results of our analysis once we analyze the samples at the University of Arizona. For more details or if you would be interested in working with us, please call us or email 520-274-9642, “hasenstabj@arizona.edu”
