The Geminids meteor shower, often referred to as the best of the year, will peak starting this Sunday, December 13th into Monday morning. Astronomers say the optimum viewing time will be from midnight until 3:00a.m. and rural areas with little ambient light are best for optimum visibility. If you prefer to view the meteor shower from indoors the Lowell Observatory is offering a free, virtual program online, beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday and lasting for approximately an hour. Visit the Lowell Observatory’s website for more information.
