Veterans Day is Monday, November 11, 2024. The public is invited to join our Patagonia Minstrels and Friends for a flag raising at the VFW Flagpole in the Patagonia Cemetery at 11am.
Veterans Day is a U.S. legal holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars. In 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in World War I.
Volunteers are needed to help prepare the site on Saturday, November 9 at 9am. We will be replacing the flags on veterans’ graves, picking up litter and doing some weed whacking.
