Eric Richard Quiroga, age 55, of Castle Rock, Colo., joined the angels on July 20, 2026, with his loving family and friends wrapped around him. He was born on July 17, 1971, in Nogales, Arizona, and raised by his mother, Peggy Wright, and his father, Gilbert Quiroga, who were both present for his passing. Eric met his true love, Lorraine (Rain) Quiroga, in Patagonia, followed her to Colorado, and put a ring on her finger on December 7, 2000. He helped Rain raise her beautiful daughter, Jasmine Mollohan, and her amazing grandson, Rome Entsler.

Eric Quiroga

Eric was the most devoted husband, father, and grandfather one could imagine, and he was a lover through and through. He loved his family, his friends, his coworkers, every stranger, dog, cat, mountain, ocean, lake, and plant he encountered. Joy lived and thrived in every fiber of his being. He took the time to learn what brought joy to others and shared his joy with them. He gave to all of us, helped with every task, and sang at the top of his lungs through it all. To be near him was to experience a roller coaster of all the emotions that healed the soul: laughter, silliness, trickery, teasing, peace, serenity, kindness, openness, forgiveness, and ultimately, pure love. All of us are so grateful that Eric came into our lives. He taught us what it means to be happy, and we will hold his teachings in our hearts forevermore. Our lives are forever changed for the better, having Eric’s beautiful soul with us for the last 55 blessed years.

Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine Quiroga; his grandson Rome Entsler; his mother, Peggy Wright; his father and stepmother, Gilbert & Rebeca Quiroga; his brothers and their spouses: Michael & Angelica Quiroga, Nick & Jessica Quiroga, Clint & Irene Quiroga, Joey & Tina Quiroga; his step-brothers and their spouses: Eduardo & Yohana Cortez, Fabian & Ashleigh Espinoza; his step-sisters: Claudia Cortez, Karla Espinoza; his mother-in-law, Barbie Mollohan; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Camden & Dawn Mollohan, Mark & Erin Woelfel, and Lorin & Christine Mollohan; his wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members; and countless fun-loving, loyal friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his daughter, Jasmine Mollohan; his father-in-law, Keith Mollohan; his maternal grandparents, Duke & Mary Ann Wright; and his paternal grandparents, Joaquin & Maclovia Quiroga.

Eric’s body was donated to science in hopes of finding a cure for pancreatic cancer. He is still giving of himself, even in death. Upon completion of Eric’s final contribution to this world and when his cremains are back with his family, there will be a Celebration of Eric’s Life in Colorado on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Eric & Lorraine’s home at 164 Vista Canyon Drive; Castle Rock, CO 80104 at 12 p.m.

In Arizona, Mass will be held for Eric on Oct. 10, 2026, at 10 a.m., and the rosary will precede the Mass, starting at 9:30 a.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Parish; 222 Third Avenue; Patagonia, AZ 85624. After the Mass, a second Celebration of Eric’s Life will be held by his loving Arizona family on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 469 Harshaw Avenue; Patagonia, AZ 85624 at 2 p.m. All family and friends are welcome to attend both celebrations. Eric would not have it any other way!

The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Sky Ridge Medical Center’s attending staff for their exceptional care of Eric and for tolerating all of his teasing and pranks during his final weeks with us. He was so grateful to all of you.

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves the contrite of spirit.

Eric, may you be at peace, until we meet again… We love and adore you always!
