Santa Cruz County (SCC) was awarded $1,547,702 from a CDC grant to Arizona that was retroactively effective as of July 1, 2020.  As a result, residents will have the opportunity to test, free of charge at one of three locations beginning Saturday, July 25th.  The SCC Health Department is encouraging everyone be tested.

Blitz Details

Medical Professionals will be performing the PCR test, which is a nose swab.  Attendees are asked not to exit their vehicles.  Individuals being tested will be required to isolate for 10 days or until a negative test result is received.

The results will be reported by SCC Health Services when received back from the lab after approximately 48 hours.

On May 19, 2020, the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) announced<https://www.azdhs.gov/director/public-information-office/index.php#news-release-051920> the state was awarded $150 million from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to enhance statewide public health efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.  The grant is supported through supplemental funding from H.R. 266 – Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act<https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/266> to support Arizona’s public health efforts including expansion of testing, contact tracing, and infection prevention and control efforts (CDC COVID-19 Funding Update<https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/php/funding-update.pdf?deliveryName=USCDC_1268-DM27257>).
