They were a devoted couple who shared each other’s dreams and lives. She and Harold raised two sons in Ohio, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, and England. When Harold came back from a second tour in Thailand during the Vietnam War they settled in Tucson. Carol visited Harold during the war.

Carol worked for JC Penney, volunteered at Casa de Los Niños and raised two children during Harold’s absences on military assignments.

Carol and Harold purchased land in Sonoita and built a home there in 1984. They were totally involved in the Sonoita community. Carol worked at local restaurants, volunteered at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds and at the Elgin Fire Department, cooking breakfasts with Harold.

Carol was predeceased by her husband, Harold, and son Steven. She is survived by her son Richard, his wife Joy, and granddaughters Nicole and Alissa, her daughter-in-law Cindy and grandchildren William, Samantha, Michelle, and Amberlyn.

All whom she leaves behind will remember a loving, independent, strong-willed spirit who liked order and cleanliness. She celebrated birthdays, her loved ones’ lives and the lives of her dogs.

A celebration of life is scheduled for April 15, 2023, at the Santa Cruz Fairgrounds.
