In an effort to reach more young patrons and families, the library is switching up the usual storytime routine. We’re now alternating storytimes on Mondays at 9a.m. and Wednesdays at 4p.m., as well as including a new video series called “Tucked-in Tuesdays,” where I read a book and sing a song before bed every Tuesday at 7p.m. The response has been overwhelmingly positive.

The goal now is to read stories for a variety of ages, not just wee ones. Videos can be accessed on the library’s YouTube channel or check the Friends of Patagonia Library Facebook page. The library will play a crucial role in the upcoming 2020 census. We’re looking for people interested in sitting on the Town of Patagonia’s Complete Count Committee. The committee will consist of five or six community leaders and organizations dedicated to planning and implementing outreach campaigns to raise awareness about the census and increase participation rates.
